Summer Reading....for kids

One of my kids is very into the Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osbourne.  Apparently, this nonfiction addict finally decided books with a plot are worth reading.  So while we have another 30-odd adventures with Jack and Annie waiting, I wanted to add a few other great books parents can share with their kids:

Little House on the Prairie series
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Anne of Green Gables series
James Herriot's vet series
Narnia series
Harry Potter series - you knew it would be on here!

Are you noticing a trend?  Kids like repetition, which is why they love series.  They can also invest more in characters over multiple books.

So, if your child is like mine, find a series of books and have fun reading all summer long!
